Is this the end of the age of heroes, or just the beginning?

Those known as heroes have always existed, whether they be the children of the divine, the scions of science or just normal men with abnormal resolve and drive. However, some periods of time have been particularly marked by the actions of these paragons, and the past century has certainly been one of them. The epic clash of the Second World War soon led to the Cold War, a clash of ideologies that nearly resulted in planetary devastation. Now that this century nears it’s end and an era of ideological conflict is coming to a close the role of heroes is in question. Will the heroes lead the world into an age of peace, or will new threats emerge, to be overcome by the heroes, or to overcome them?
